Sunshine and Snow at Mammoth Mountain
This year the snow has been cooperating at Mammoth Mountain. The town of Mammoth Lakes is reporting that snow is falling again this week, with more on the way bringing the season totals to 22 feet of snow. While the base remains constant at around 10-12 feet, it has been snowing regularly since December. In comparison, last year the entire year brought 19 feet of total snow, we have already in Mid February surpassed that number by 3 feet!. Adding to the glory, the biggest snow year was just 3 years ago when Mammoth was plummeted with 55 feet of snow. So this year, looks to be above average and based on averages, for the month of March 2008, Mammoth should get another 40-60 inches! A great spring is in the making.
