Ski Week in Mammoth

Back by popular demand is Ski Week. February 16- 22, 2008 Traditionally local Southern California schools, especially Los Angeles School District give students a little extra time off and they call come skiing. Traditionally Ski Week happens during the schools semester break and generally falls right after Presidents' Holiday Weekend. Private schools are on a different schedule and often have their ski weeks early in the season. Ski Week is celebrated all throughout town and well, adults come too. Not only is this good family time, but a good time on the slopes as the snow in Mammoth is always the best in February where sun shines during the days, yet nights are cold to keep the snow fresh and light. Ok, so it really is a good excuse to get away and avoid the Presidents Weekend crowd which is the weekend before.
