Mammoth Weather Unbelievable Snow

17 more inches fell on Saturday 2/2 bringing the base depth up to 140". Or you might say Mammoth has 11 feet of snow. Certianly the weather has been cooperating this year. Since January 7 feet of snow has fallen and you can bet more Mammoth snow is on the way. Most times, when it rains in Los Angeles, it is snowing in Mammoth. With the snow, usually comes colder weather, wind, and sometimes white-out conditions. If you are driving in a snow storm, turn your headlamps on, and if a white-out occurs, please pull over to the side of the road, and leave your headlamps on. It will likely clear in a few minutes and you can continue. The roads have been remarkably clear, and Cal Trans is doing a great job with the plows. You will need 4WD with Mud-Snow Tires or chains and if you want to make it really an easy drive... bring the 4WD. The temperatures are in the 20's, and it seems mild outdoors. Ski before Presidents Day for the best values on lodging and lift tickets, and don't forget to check our promotions section for the least expensive deals to Mammoth.
