Mammoth Snow Dump, Fantastic Skiing

What a Dump! We received another 27 inches of snow in the past 24 hours, bringing the Mammoth Snow Dump storm total up to 51 inches. It was still snowing at Main Lodge at 8:30am 02/17/2009 and the temperature was 14 degrees with light winds around 11mph. Expect highs to be in the low 20s today. The top is seeing cold temps at around 7 degrees with strong winds and we're expecting it to keep snowing today with several more inches of accumulation.
The skiing of course is fantastic but during the weekend the top was closed due to fog. It's cold. Dress warm, but you will definitely enjoy the powder. The groomers are doing a great job and there are over 140 runs open all over. Possibly another snowfall record.
More snow is expected today, and then clearing for a great week of skiing. Snow is expected again on Saturday. 2/21/09. You will need chains and or 4wd just to drive around in town. Don't be a fool, bring chains. The streets are slippery.
Enjoy this great February skiing. It is truly unbelievable. Also don't forget our "Do It Again" savings on lodging.
