Happy Days, Snow for Thanksgiving
Over a foot of snow has fallen on Mammoth Mountain this past weekend, just in time to kick off the Thanksgiving holiday season. On a pase of 18-24" this amount of snow means that Chair 2, Stump Alley will be open and Canyon Lodge is set to open as well. The reports, depending on who's voodoo you believe say that there will be more snow on Thanksgiving day. This means you will be skiing and riding instead of shopping on black Friday. Is that so bad?
One of the best things about the weather in Mammoth, is that you can actually see it. Remember that the ski slope is higher than the town so the weather can be dramatically different. Either way it is cold. So here is the best way to look at the weather... via our webcams. You can take control of the webcam when it is your turn and scroll around to see what is happening on the slopes, or in The Mammoth Village.
This Thanksgiving there will be a ton of entertainment in The Village. On November 25 Santa will arrive and there will be concerts in the evening. Unfortunately, the webcams don't work at night very well, so you will have to get off the computer and come on over. We'll have a hot cocoa waiting for you.
